Medicaid and Uncompensated Care Education

Program Description:
Taught by leaders in the Medicaid and Charity Care fields, these sessions will cover the following topics: History of Medicaid and Charity Care programs in New Jersey, the criteria and operational issues involved in qualifying patients for these programs, the reimbursement formulas, how these patients can impact your Medicare reimbursement through DSH and SSI calculations, as well as the role of Medicaid managed care insurers in the State. These sessions will provide an opportunity to encourage your team to grow by gaining a broader understanding of the ways to obtain payment for your indigent and uninsured patients. A continental breakfast & lunch will be served.
Course Objectives:
The course is designed to assist individuals to understand all aspects of services related to overall reimbursement for the indigent population.
 

New Jersey Board of Accountancy Continuing Professional Education Credits
Based on our understanding of the New Jersey State Board of Accountancy’s continuing professional education requirements, Sponsor No. 185, this course will qualify for Six (6) continuing professional education credits in Specialized Knowledge.


American College of Health care Executives Continuing Education Credits
HFMA is authorized to award six (6) hours of pre-approved Category II (non-ACHE) continuing education credit for this program toward advancement or recertification in the American College of Health care Executives. Participants in this program wishing to have the continuing education hours applied toward Category II credit should indicate their attendance when submitting application to the American College of Healthcare Executives for advancement or recertification.
