Position Summary:&lt;/b&gt; This position is responsible for the overall leadership, planning, direction and management of patient accounting for the health system.  Reporting to the CFO the position is responsible for ongoing design, implementation, maintenance and reporting of receivable processes designed to maximize the benefit to Holy Redeemer Health System of billing systems, collection policy and systems, bad debt management including monitoring contract payment compliance, etc. In addition the position will insure the integrity and quality of the application of all net revenue methodologies by payer and product and service line.

Recruitment Requirements:&lt;/b&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
    &lt;li&gt; Four-year college degree in Accounting or Business Administration with MBA/CPA preferred;
    &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt; Minimum of ten year's senior level experience in a healthcare facility with accounts receivable managerial and technical experience;
    &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt; Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, as well as Medicare and Medicaid billing regulations required;
    &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt; The ability to apply sound accounting principles in recording of patient revenues, contractual allowances and bad debt computations;
    &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt; A thorough working knowledge of the Revenue Cycle process and the financial impact to the organization;
    &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt; Ability to lead and motivate teams to a high level of performance;
    &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt; Experience dealing effectively with all levels of management;
    &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt; Must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
    &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt; Demonstrated proficiency of personal computer, Excel, Word required
    &lt;/li&gt;

    &lt;li&gt; Interfaces with attorneys, consultants, external auditors and fiscal intermediary personnel on reimbursement and compliance issues, including the following: special projects, field audits and desk reviews.&lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt; Prepares simulated cost reports to estimate the reimbursement impact of audit adjustments, amended filings, appeals, reopenings and mergers. &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;Prepares supporting analyses to be used in the preparation of the annual revenue budget. &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;Expert knowledge on current and proposed Medicare regulations. &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;Drafts presentation documents regarding reimbursement analyses and assessments for Executive Management, including up to the Entity Presidents.&lt;/li&gt;

This position reports to the Controller. We seek an individual to maintain accounting policies, procedures and controls to ensure financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. Responsibilities include managing the daily accounting function of assigned affiliates to ensure timely and accurate processing, closing and financial reporting; preparing &amp;amp; reviewing monthly financial statements, and daily, monthly and annual statistics; preparing, reviewing &amp;amp; mailing 1099's; assisting consultants with the annual 990 return, and the annual cost reports; overseeing internal and external audits to ensure timely completion.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. 7 – 10 years experience at the Senior Accountant level, in a Healthcare/Long-Term Care environment is required. Must be a hands-on individual who has the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of management. Lawson experience preferred. Advanced knowledge of MS office required.

&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;Major Duties &amp;amp; Responsibilities:&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

    &lt;li&gt;Coordinates system research for newly enacted or proposed hospital Medicare and Medicaid regulatory changes for assigned areas of responsibility which include but are not limited to inpatient and outpatient prospective rates, disproportionate share, and health care reform initiatives. Coordinates evaluation of potential impacts. &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;Coordinates, develops and prepares System commentary of proposed Medicare regulations. &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;Assumes a leadership/planning role with regard to Governmental payer reimbursement within the Geisinger Health System. &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;Maintains expert-level knowledge of all governmental payer activities and analyzes the impact of any regulatory changes. Keeps abreast of all appropriate laws, regulations and standards and communicates same to reimbursement staff. Includes federal and state budget impacts. &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;Works with reimbursement staff in developing reimbursement strategies. &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;Coordinates all Medicare cost report appeals and ensures appropriate paperwork is filed on a timely basis. Communicates as needed to consultant or outside counsel. &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;Coordinate monthly reimbursement meetings with GMC and GNE staff. &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;Research and analysis of reimbursement aspects related to Quality and VBP for all payors and other health care reform initiatives. &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;Manages projects as assigned. Maintains project management documentation, including project plans, issues lists, decisions documents, system setup requirements, flow documents, and comprehensive audit documentation. &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;Supervises and coordinates work efforts of team members for completion of project tasks. &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;Creates and maintains policies, procedures, summaries and checklists for all areas of responsibility. &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;1Routinely and proactively keeps Director abreast of key issues. &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;Develops and maintains cooperative, collaborative and productive, team-driven relationships between the department and management throughout the System. &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;Maintains confidentiality of data and adheres to HIPAA regulations.&lt;/li&gt;

    &lt;li&gt;Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration or Accounting required. &lt;/li&gt;
