Mary T. Taylor, MBA, FHFMA is currently the President for the New Jersey Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), where she has been a member since 1996. She has achieved the distinction of Fellow within HFMA.

Prior to her current position in the Chapter, Mary has served on various committees, co-chaired & chaired the PFS Committee and the Corporate Compliance Committee. Mary has been on the Board of Directors since 2004, as Board liaison for the Education Committee, Compliance Committee, Patient Access and IT Committees. She has received the President’s Award in 2002 and won a Helen M. Yerger Award in 2003. Mary has also been recognized with the William G. Follmer Bronze Award in 2006, the Robert H. Reeves Silver Award in 2008 and the Frederick T. Muncie Gold Award in 2009 for her active role in HFMA.

Mary has twenty some years of experience in healthcare finance. She is currently the Director of Patient Finance and Managed Care for Southern Ocean County Hospital (SOCH), a member of Meridian Health.

Prior to SOCH, Mary was the Director of Business Operations for Salick Health Care, working with several regional centers in Philadelphia and New York. She also spent several years at a multi-hospital system in Philadelphia, PA.

Mary earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Temple University and a Bachelor of Business degree from Temple University.

 Michael Alwell, FHFMA is currently the President-Elect for the New Jersey Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), where he has been a member since 1995, and has achieved the distinction of Fellow within HFMA.

 Prior to his election to the Board of Directors, Mike served on various committees within the organization, chairing the 2006 Annual Institute Committee and the 2007-2008 Certification Committee. Since joining the Board in 2008 Mike has served as co-chair of the Policies & Procedures Committee and as Board Liaison to the Certification Committee. In recognition of his service to HFMA, Mike received a Yerger Award and the President's Award in 2007 and the Muncie Gold Award in 2008.

Having held positions in budget & reimbursement, cost accounting, managed care contracting, general finance, and compliance, Mike has almost 25 years of experience in healthcare finance.

Mike earned a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Bachelor of Science degree from William Paterson College.

John M. Brault, FHFMA, is currently the Treasurer for the New Jersey Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), where he has been a member since 2004. He has served on the chapter's Board of Directors since 2006 when he was the first appointee to the Jr/Associate Board Member Position. He received the distinction of Certified Healthcare Financial Professional in 2007, specializing in Managed Care, and achieved the distinction of fellow in 2010.

John was the founder and chair of the Future Leader committee, and served as co-chair of the 2009 Institute Committee, co-chair of the Events and Networking Committee, and an active member of the Education, Membership, and Proaction committees. He has also served as ’09-10’ Program Chair, overseeing chapter-wide education programming. John won a Helen M. Yerger Award in 2007, and was recognized with the Follmer Bronze Award in 2008 for his active role in the chapter. John currently holds the position of Director of Managed Care at Somerset Medical Center.

Prior to his position at Somerset Medical Center, John served as Network Manager at Aetna, Director of Managed Care Services for Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, and as a consultant with McBee Associates. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Scranton, in Scranton, PA, and is currently enrolled in the Master of Health Administration program at Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ.

Dave Wiessel is a partner in Ernst & Young's Northeast Area Assurance practice and has over 15 years of auditing experience serving a variety of health care organizations, including academic medical centers, community-based hospitals, long-term care facilities and other not-for-profit entities.

Dave is a reviewer in the firm's Audit Quality Review program and has trained engagement teams throughout the United States on the firm's audit methodology. Dave has been a frequent speaker about health care accounting and auditing issues at Ernst & Young and industry events and has developed numerous training programs on health care and related topics, including technical accounting areas, complex audit areas and other industry specific issues, such as OMB Circular A-133. He is currently serving as an Officer of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Dave is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New Jersey, New York and Virginia. Dave holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from The College of William and Mary.
